Description
The Vitra Prismatic Table by Isamu Noguchi is based on purely geometric forms. This novel three-legged side table with its hexagonal tabletop is made of folded sheet aluminium and was inspired by traditional Japanese paper folding techniques. Taken out of production in 2019 it has now been introduced in three tonal monochrome models in shades of light, medium and dark grey.

Isamu Noguchi
Los Angeles born, Isamu Noguchi continues to be one of the most celebrated sculptors of the twentieth century. He travelled a lot throughout his lifetime and this was a huge inspiration that can be found in his work through his experimentation of materials that he had seen widely used in different cultures around the world. His work did not gain public recognition until 1938 when he was commissioned to complete a large-scale sculpture symbolizing the freedom of the press, for the Associated Press building in the Rockefeller Centre. Noguchi seized this chance as it allowed him to fuse his passion for sculpture with his love of sharing its beauty with the world. His favourite piece was the Noguchi Coffee Table produced by Vitra - now a firm design classic.
