Description
This Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman from Vitra is the American cherry version of the classic and original lounge chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956. Now manufactured under licence from the Eames estate this version has am American cherry wooden shell, and is complemented with a selection of leather colours so suit the hue of the wood. You can also choose the finish on the base to personalise your chair. It's available in two sizes - the original classic dimensions as well as the new larger dimensions - created in 2010 - to allow for the increase in average human height since the chair was first launched in 1956.

Charles & Ray Eames
American husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames have had a profound influence on the visual character of American life, producing original work within the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts.
The Eames’ first partnered with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the history of interior design. Today Vitra continues to reflect their philosophy on design and functionality, best understood through Charles’ own words: “Recognising the need is the primary condition for the design”.
