&Tradition TK4 Betty Bench
Named after the Betty Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen, the &Tradition Betty TK4 Bench is made from exposed webbing hand-crafted from natural linen fibres. Its solid oak frame is available in a selection of contemporary finishes, oak, black and maroon with natural webbing, as well as black with black webbing.

Description
Named after the Betty Nansen Theater in Copenhagen, the TK4 Betty Bench was designed by Sami Kallio and Jakob Thau for &Tradition. Thie beautifully crafted bench features a woven seat that is supported by a solid oak frame. The organic combination of oak and linen webbing creates a tactile experience and adds a soft, natural element to the home. Comfortable and flexible when sat upon, the TK4 bench is perfect for sitting or resting in a bedroom or living space.
Also available is the Betty TK5, a slightly longer version of the bench, and the Betty TK1, a contemporary chair with the same exposed natural wedding.

Thau & Kallio
Jakob Thau was born in Sweden but grew up in Denmark, where he first trained as a cabinetmaker before earning a master’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design. His work is all about the timeless. By blending traditional craftsmanship with both familiar and innovative materials, Thau creates designs that feel instantly relatable—pieces made to be lived with and loved for years.
Sami Kallio, originally from Finland, was raised in Sweden and also shares a background in cabinetmaking. After completing a master’s in design at the Gothenburg School of Design and Crafts, he developed a reputation for combining a deep respect for wood and traditional craftsmanship with forward-thinking manufacturing techniques.
Together, Thau and Kallio bring their shared passion for craft and innovation to life in the Betty collection from &Tradition. Inspired by Copenhagen’s Betty Nansen Theatre, which dates back to 1857 and was first housed in a wooden pavilion, the collection blends heritage and modernity in a way that feels both contemporary and full of character. At its heart, the Betty series reflects the duo’s fascination with creating seating that’s not only functional, but also warm, inviting, and perfectly suited to any space.
