Artek Furniture - Chairs, Tables & Storage
Artek furniture is steeped in design tradition. It's founders Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen, and Nils-Gustav Hahl are still recognised as some of the greatest modern designers. Founded in 1935, Artek has been at the forefront of the Scandinavian design renaissance and popular items include the Artek 60 stool - which can be seen in cafes, museums and at galleries worldwide - and the 901 Tea Trolley.
Artek furniture can almost be instantly recognised due to the design elements and materials used. When Aalvar Aalto patented the 90° steam bent wooden leg, it became a pillar of their design principle with many of their designs utilising the technique. White washed and light woods are also common in Artek designs and are also synonymous with Scandinavian design too.
