Description
The GUBI 9209 Table Lamp was designed by one of the trailblazers of contemporary illumination. As the radiance of electric light disseminated across the globe, so did the reach of Tynell's groundbreaking design concepts.
The 9209 luminary boasts a uniquely contoured shade, expertly spun from brass, which has earned it the moniker 'Kypärä' – drawing inspiration from the Finnish term for 'helmet'. Supported gracefully by a brass arm, the moulded shade stands adorned with triangular perforations, a distinct hallmark synonymous with Tynell's artistic touch. Crafting these perforated patterns demands a specialized punch tool and an unwavering commitment to precision through manual craftsmanship. Beyond its role in directing illumination downward, the meticulously punctured surface of the shade serves a dual purpose. It permits delicate pinpricks of light to filter through, engendering a gentle, textured radiance akin to starlight's glimmer.
