Paul McCobb
American born designer Paul McCobb moved from Boston to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a designer. He was actually self taught but his profound understanding of perspective paved the way for his emerging career as one of the most important designers of the last century. Scale and perspective in particular became a trademark for McCobb, whose tables, shelving and table lamps were the result of meticulous attention to the space the finished designs would eventually inhabit. Fine lines and simplicity of form with a distinct lightness came to characterise his finished designs.
His designs are also synonymous with a no-nonsense design approach where only the essential components are required to obtain both the refined aesthetics and practical application for the finished product.
