Jacques Adnet
French-born architect and interior designer Jacques Adnet defined himself as “innovative and classic; the champion of a tradition looking into the future.” Born in 1900, Adnet studied architecture at the prestigious École des Arts Decoratifs in Paris before working with his twin brother Jean Adnet, under the collaborative moniker Jean & Jacques Adnet. Renowned for his unadorned Art Deco style and considered to be one of France’s foremost avant-garde design geniuses, Adnet's furniture is largely defined by its use of rich, luxurious materials, including smoked glass, exotic woods, chromed metals, parchment, leather, and mirror.
Throughout his career Adnet formed a strong partnership with French fashion house Hermes, where he developed a collection of leather-covered furniture and interior accessories which included the distinctively lavish Gubi Adnet Leather Frame Mirror.
