Francesco Binfare
Francesco Binfaré was born in Milan in 1939 and received his artistic eduction from his father. He was director of the Cassina Research Centre from 1969-1976, during which period certain classics of contemporary design were born. In 1980 he founded his own Design and Communication Centre for research and the promotion of projects, some of which came into being for Cassina including Wink by Toshiyuki Kita and Feltri by Gaetano Pesce. He promotes initiatives for publishing experiments in furniture for the avant garde and for the use of interactive media in architectural projects. Binfaré has also designed and produced many items of furniture during his extensive career, including the Annett Stacking Chair for Magis.
