LYFA's Peanut Pendant Light is an elegant example of mid-century classic design. Crafted from mouth-blown opalised glass and solid brass, this beautiful pendant has a curving organic form. Description
A mid-century classic designed by Bent Karlby in 1946, the LYFA Peanut Pendant Light is a simple, elegant piece. With a curved organic form, the pendant has a soft look and emits a warm gentle light. Crafted from mouth-blown opalised glass and solid brass, it hangs elegantly and creates a comfortable atmosphere wherever it is suspended.
It was created in protest against the harsh fluorescent lighting that was popular in the 1940s, and has all of the signature design elements associated with Karlby. The small peepholes around the brass base of the pendant allow decorative streams of light to escape, creating a gentle contrast to the diffused, glowing light emitted from the opalised glass.
Peanut is available in three sizes.
