Description
“In a world where everyone is rushing around mega multi-tasking, to sit at an ordinary desk feels so static,” says Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. “I felt compelled to design a desk with a feeling of motion, inspired by the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder. Balancing various shapes and materials at various heights supported by a metal frame. In theory, it’s like a mobile but in reality it’s a desk.”
The Palette Desk JH9 from &Tradition merges two shapes together: an elongated bean shape with a simple round shape. An eclectic mix of luxurious materials and colours, the Palette Desk JH9 embodies a stunning contemporary design that is both understated yet eye-catching. Featuring a marvellous mix of regal materials, the tables' striking form provides an organised set-up for a working environment, in an office or bedroom, or a console table in a living area or hallway.

Jaime Hayon
Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon has shot to international acclaim through his use of designing with the intent of preserving and updating traditional objects through new forms of materials and technologies. His work is strongly characterized by his childhood passions, skateboard culture and graffiti art. Hayon set up his own design business in 2006 and has since collaborated with some of the word's most influential brands, including Fritz Hansen, Established and Sons, Moooi, Swarovski and his ongoing work as a creative consultant for the Spanish porcelain manufacturer Lladró. The Ro Chair and Favn Sofa are some of his most recent projects.
