Description
The Carl Hansen AJ52 Society Desk, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952 was originally designed for the American-Scandinavian Foundation's New York Office in limited numbers. Re-launched in 2018 and part of the Carl Hansen design classics collection this visionary desk exudes refinement with its slimline profile, lightweight appearance and contrasting use of material. A brushed steel frame is combined with a black or brown leather top and 6 drawer desk element which is available in oiled or black stained oak or oiled walnut. In addition you can also select to have the additional additional lamp unit which incorporates a brushed steel desk lamp together with a wood and glass shelf unit. The table also comes in two lengths. Simple yet complex, the realisation of this design will add a timeless elegance to any office or study.

Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen in 1902 and graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in architecture in 1927. He was prolific both as an architect and as a designer. He is most famous for designing the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, and for the interior, the Egg and Swan Chair together with the Swan Sofa and Series 3300 with Fritz Hansen. This propelled the Arne Jacobsen name into furniture history.
