Description

The Slow Chair from Vitra was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Of expansive proportions the Slow Chair design uses an extremely strong, precisely shaped knit which is stretched over the metal frame like a fitted stocking. Thanks to the knit sling cover, the Slow Chair combines soft comfort with ergonomic support, which is further enhanced by thin seat and back cushions. The translucent sling cover replaces the thick cushions of traditional armchairs, resulting in a design that is lightweight, yet generously proportioned.

The restrained appearance of the Slow Chair is equally appealing in a living room or conservatory, while offering exceptional seating comfort.

With a metal frame and polished or powder coated aluminium legs the Slow Chair has a cover of knitted fabric with, seat and backrest cushions in polyurethane foam and polyester wool. Every Slow Chair includes seat and 2 back cushions and comes in various colour options.

PLEASE NOTE - the colour descriptions below are for order purposes only. As this is a woven fabric the overall look is completely different from that described. The look and specification is as follows:

Black - Dark grey weave, anthracite seat & pad, 1 long moss green & 1 anthracite cushion.
Brown - Dark brown weave with aubergine seat & pad, 1 long moss green & 1 anthracite cushion.
Red/Cream - Pink weave with cream seat & pad, 1 long moss green & 1 laser green cushion.
Brown/Cream - Light grey weave with brown seat & pad, 1 laser green & 1 light moss grey cushion.
Blue/Green - Blue green weave, ink blue seat pad, 1 moss green and 1 blue cushion

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are internationally acclaimed French designers whose work has shaped contemporary furniture and product design over the past two decades. Born in Quimper, Brittany, the brothers established their Paris-based design studio in 1999 and quickly gained recognition for their unique ability to blend simplicity, functionality and poetic form.

Their portfolio spans furniture, lighting, textiles, accessories and architectural projects, with collaborations that include some of the world’s leading design brands such as Vitra, HAY, Artek, Magis, Alessi, , Flos and Kvadrat.
