Louis Poulsen FJ Elements Table Lamp
The FJ Elements 175 Table Lamp by Louis Poulsen is one of the rare lighting designs by Danish architect Finn Juhl (1912–1989). Originally designed in 1963 and reintroduced in 2025, its two-part shade allows adjustable, directional light, while a subtle opening provides a soft upward glow. With clean geometric lines and a timeless Scandinavian aesthetic, it’s ideal for desks, reading corners, or bedside tables.

Description
Louis Poulsen’s FJ Elements 175 Table Lamp is a testament to the genius of Danish architect Finn Juhl (1912–1989). First designed in 1963 and reissued in 2025, the lamp draws its name from Juhl’s original sketches, in which he explored the lamp’s structure and proportions as distinct “elements”. The design is deceptively simple: two interlinked shades allow the upper shade to rotate around the lower, letting you direct light precisely where it’s needed. A subtle gap between the shade and base adds gentle upward illumination, while an integrated diffuser ensures soft, glare-free light.
The lamp’s geometric form, combined with its playful adjustability, exemplifies Juhl’s architectural precision and creativity. Its timeless Scandinavian aesthetic makes it equally suited to home offices, reading nooks, and bedside tables, bringing both function and sculptural elegance to any space.
