This majestic A330S Pendant Light was designed by Alvar Aalto for the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki in 1936. Now produced by Finnish brand Artek it looks as beautiful as ever, owing to its simple, sophisticated bell-shape that gives it a timeless appeal. Made from a single piece of solid brass or steel it commands attention even when not switched on, giving your space a look of elegant, pared-back opulence. When switched on it produces a beautiful golden glow enhanced by its perforated rim, making it the perfect choice for illuminating rooms with a dull colour palette or little natural light. Suitable for commercial and residential use it's available in 4 colours: Brass, Painted White Steel, Painted Black Steel and Chrome.
Artek launched the 'Savoy' finish in 2017 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Restaurant Savoy in Helsinki. This version is polished brass with an uncoated surface, so over time it will develop a beautiful patina. The inside of the lamp is raw brass so it creates a warm light. With a brass canopy and black textile cable, it has the same finishes as the original A330S lamps which Aalto designed for the Restaurant Savoy.

Alvar Aalto
Born in Kuortane, Finland in 1898, Alvar Aalto was one of the founders of Finnish brand Artek and is recognised today as one of the greatest masters in modern architecture. His long, prolific and varied career was marked by collaborations with almost all key public institutions - town halls, theatres, churches, libraries and universities - as well as standardised housing and private homes. In fact, it was the Paimio 41 Armchair, created in 1931-32 for the Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Paimio, that provided his international breakthrough. Artek was set up in 1935 to market and sell Alvar and Aino Aalto's furniture, lamps and textiles not just to Finnish customers but also to an international market. To this day, Artek still enjoys worldwide popularity and success, with Aalto's innovative designs forming the basis of the collection.
