Description
The EA217 Soft Pad Eames Chair from Vitra is from the Soft Pad range designed by Charles & Ray Eames. Like its sister EA 117 Chair the Soft Pad has the same structure but with stitched nappa leather pads of upholstery, rendering it more comfortable and making for an interesting contrast to the slim aluminium profile of the frame.
Featuring a base and frame in either mirrored 'chrome' or a slightly brushed 'polished aluminium', the back of the chair has a fabric covering which tones in with the leather front. It comes in two leather grades in a variety of colours.
The EA217 features armrests, a five star castor base, and has a gas height adjustable and reclining seat.

Charles & Ray Eames
American husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames have had a profound influence on the visual character of American life, producing original work within the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts.
The Eames’ first partnered with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the history of interior design. Today Vitra continues to reflect their philosophy on design and functionality, best understood through Charles’ own words: “Recognising the need is the primary condition for the design”.
