Description
The Panton Chair has always been a favourite of children. They not only like its bright, cheerful colours and smooth curves, but the fact that the Panton Chair is as much fun to play with as it is to sit on.
Soon after its introduction, Verner Panton began to consider the idea of producing a child-size version of the chair together with Vitra. What was financially unfeasible over 35 years ago is now possible: Vitra introduces the Panton Junior, whose production is based on the original plans of Verner Panton.
Identical to the original Panton model with regard to material and shape, the Panton Junior is approximately 25 percent smaller and available in the same colours.
Panton Junior is an ideal chair for children in pre-school and primary grades.

Verner Panton
Verner Panton (1926–1998) was one of Denmark’s most influential and daring 20th-century designers, celebrated for his bold use of colour, innovative materials, and sculptural forms. Originally working for Arne Jacobsen he broke away from the traditional Scandinavian design language of natural woods and muted tones, embracing plastic, steel, and vibrant palettes to create designs that felt futuristic, playful, and unmistakably modern.
Best known for the Vitra Panton Chair, the world’s first moulded plastic chair made from a single piece, his work pushed the boundaries of what furniture and lighting could be. From striking pendant lamps to expressive modular seating systems, Panton’s creations are not only functional but also immersive, transforming interiors into environments full of personality and energy.
Throughout his career, he collaborated with leading brands such as Vitra producing pieces that remain icons of modern design. His lamps and furniture are now regarded as design classics, held in museum collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the V&A in London.
