Vitra Panton Classic Chair
The Vitra Panton Chair (classic) was designed in the 1960's by Vernor Panton following years of experimenting with the possibility of creating a plastic chair moulded in one piece. Unlike the cheaper Panton Chair (standard) features a rigid expanded plastic and lacquered surface.

Description
This is the Rolls Royce of the Panton Chair design from Vitra. The original Panton Classic Chair was designed by Verner Panton who spent many years thinking about how to produce a plastic chair moulded in one piece. Together with Vitra, he came up with the first prototypes in the 1960s and Panton Chair went into series production as of 1967.
Unlike the cheaper Panton Chair Standard in solid plastic, Panton Chair Classic is made of rigid expanded plastic and has a lacquered surface.
It's available in four classic colours: red, green, white and black.

Verner Panton
Architect and designer Verner Panton started out as an assistant to Arne Jacobsen. His eccentricity earned him a reputation as Denmark's most controversial designer. He also earned a reputation for lighting with an instinct for creating atmosphere. Here we feature some of his most iconic designs for Vitra including the iconic Panton Chair.
