Unlike the other chairs in the Vitra Eames Aluminium Group, the EA103 and EA104 have narrower seats, a more upright seating geometry and feature slimmer splayed legs that make them ideal dining / carver chairs.

Description
The Vitra EA103 and EA104 Aluminium Group Dining Chair are part of the classic chair family which composes the Aluminium Group range from Vitra. One of the most famous creations by Charles & Ray Eames the range was designed in 1958 and they rate amongst the great achievements in design history of the 20th century.
An important characteristic of the Aluminium Group Chair is the intelligent combination of materials. It has a clear, transparent form and its construction is clearly visible. Aluminium sections lend the chair both stability and lightness. The material is fixed into the side sections, yet fitted loosely so that it follows the line of the body and is comfortable without requiring extensive upholstery. This material is not a cover but an integral part of the design.
The EA103 and EA104 are dining chairs with arms from the group. Unlike the other chairs, the seat is narrower, the seating geometry more upright and the splayed legs of the base are slimmer. This makes both chairs the ideal dining / carver chair and, with the large range of fabrics available, when mixed and matched, gives huge impact to any dining table arrangement. As with all Aluminium Group Chairs the EA103 and EA104 come with either a polished aluminium, deep black or chromed base and a 30 year guarantee. The difference between the two models is that the EA103 is fixed whilst the EA104 has a swivel feature.

American husband and wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames have had a profound influence on the visual character of American life, producing original work within the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts.
The Eames’ first partnered with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the history of interior design. Today Vitra continues to reflect their philosophy on design and functionality, best understood through Charles’ own words: “Recognising the need is the primary condition for the design”.
