Description
The Mini Lampe de Marseille Wall Light by Nemo Lighting is a celebrated modernist lighting design originally created by Le Corbusier for the iconic Unité d’Habitation in Marseille during the late 1940s. A refined smaller-scale version of the classic Lampe de Marseille, this adjustable wall light embodies the architect’s enduring philosophy of functional and architectural design.
Defined by its distinctive dual-shade silhouette, the Mini Lampe de Marseille features two spun aluminium diffusers in contrasting proportions that deliver both direct downward illumination and softer indirect upward light. Le Corbusier
Le Corbusier (Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris) - 1887-1965 - was a prolific French architect, designer, urbanist, painter and writer and one of the most influential architects of the twentieth century - a pioneer of what is now called 'modern architecture'. A vehement advocate of the modern aesthetic Le Corbusier designed with a much revered puritan severity. His view that a modern house or apartment was a 'machine for living' in is exemplified by some of the furniture he created to go in them such as the LC4 Chaise, LC1 Armchair and LC2 Armchair from Cassina.
