Description
The Tom & Jerry Stools, designed by Konstantin Grcic for Magis are adjustable in height with the aid of the bold feature screw mechanism. They're part of 'The Wild Bunch' of designs. Inspired by the classic workshop stool, this modern reinterpretation blends solid craftsmanship with a playful aesthetic. Made from solid beech and coloured polypropylene they are highly versatile for use in a variety of applications.
With three sturdy beech legs and a precision-engineered screw joint, Tom & Jerry provide excellent stability while remaining lightweight and easy to move. At the heart of the design lies a beautifully engineered polypropylene and glass-fibre joint. This expressive screw mechanism allows the seat to rise and fall with a smooth, fluid motion - an elegantly simple solution that underscores Grcic’s mastery of industrial detailing. The result is seating that adapts intuitively to changing contexts, from morning coffee to creative collaboration. Whether placed at a kitchen island, a studio bench or a contemporary bar, Tom & Jerry introduce a quiet yet distinctive presence. Their lightweight nature ensures easy movement, while the three-legged stance provides inherent stability. It is a piece that offers both visual clarity and everyday practicality.The swivel function adds comfort for long durations and flexibility for busy environments.
Tom Jerry come in two colourways - natural beech with coloured joints and screws - or all black. Furthermore, two sizes are available - a lower stool - 'Jerry' or a higher, counter version 'Tom'

Konstantin Grcic
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich in 1965 and studied carpentry and cabinet-making at the Panham College in Dorset, before completing a masters degree at the Royal College of Art in London. He then spent some time working in Jasper Morrison's studio, before returning to Munich to set up on his own. His playfulness of materials and industrial design style has led him to collaborate with many highly regarded brands including Flos, Magis, Muji and Vitra. This design discipline can be seen in the May Day Light he developed for Flos and Hack Desk from Vitra.
