Description
The Magis Steelwood Stool, as its eponymous name suggests, is made from two contrasting materials : steel and wood. Designed by Rowan & Erwan Bouroullec for Magis the Steelwood Stool has a frame in steel plate painted epoxy resin with legs and a seat in solid beech; this is either natural or or painted.
The juxtaposition of the two Steelwood Stool materials is accentuated with the visibility of the connection screws, reinforcing the design and construction honesty of the Steelwood design.Crossing the boundaries between contemporary and classic the Steelwood Stool lends itself to both styles of interiors, or a fusion of both.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are internationally acclaimed French designers whose work has shaped contemporary furniture and product design over the past two decades. Born in Quimper, Brittany, the brothers established their Paris-based design studio in 1999 and quickly gained recognition for their unique ability to blend simplicity, functionality and poetic form.
Their portfolio spans furniture, lighting, textiles, accessories and architectural projects, with collaborations that include some of the world’s leading design brands such as Vitra, HAY, Artek, Magis, Alessi, , Flos and Kvadrat. The Bouroullec brothers’ designs are celebrated for their refined balance between everyday practicality and artistic expression, often exploring modular systems, organic forms and innovative uses of materials.
Throughout their career, they have received numerous international awards and their work is held in the permanent collections of major museums, including the Centre Pompidou, MoMA in New York and the Design Museum in London. Notable projects include the HAY Palissade Collection, Vitra Alcove Sofa, and Serif TV for Samsung, all of which embody their commitment to creating accessible, enduring design for modern life.
