Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe created this Knoll stool for the legendary Four Seasons restaurant in New York, which opened in 1959 with interiors created by Philip Johnson.
With its cantilevered seat and tubular polished chrome frame this is a barstool with timeless appeal. It comes with opaque plastic glides to protect floors and, as a sign of authenticity, the signature of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is stamped on to the base of the stool.

Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is regarded as one of the 20th Century's greatest architects and was the last director of the Bauhaus, before its closure in 1933. Born in 1886 in Aachen Germany, Mies spent most of his early career in Germany where he soon gained recognition following an independent commission and a number of residential projects. One of his most famous buildings, the minimalist beauty Barcelona Pavilion, was designed as the German Pavilion for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona. As for the interior, Mies created the iconic Barcelona Chair for Knoll which was also used as a throne for King Alfonso XIII at the exhibition's opening ceremony.
