The Panthella floor lamp was originally designed by Verner Panton for Danish lighting brand, Louis Poulsen. Panton was famous for his sense in size, colour and shape which can clearly be seen with the Panthella lamp. The lamp, which was originally available in a range of bright colours, uses geometric shapes to create a stunning silhouette. The lamp utilises the shade and the base to reflect diffused light and create a comfortable working environment.
The fixture emits a soft and comfortable illumination. The hemispherical shade reflects the light downwards, and the material used ensures that the majority of the light is spread diffusely in the room from the surface of the shade.

Verner Panton
Verner Panton (1926–1998) was one of Denmark’s most influential and daring 20th-century designers, celebrated for his bold use of colour, innovative materials, and sculptural forms. Originally working for Arne Jacobsen he broke away from the traditional Scandinavian design language of natural woods and muted tones, embracing plastic, steel, and vibrant palettes to create designs that felt futuristic, playful, and unmistakably modern.
Best known for the Vitra Panton Chair, the world’s first moulded plastic chair made from a single piece, his work pushed the boundaries of what furniture and lighting could be. From striking pendant lamps to expressive modular seating systems, Panton’s creations are not only functional but also immersive, transforming interiors into environments full of personality and energy.
Throughout his career, he collaborated with leading brands such as Vitra producing pieces that remain icons of modern design. His lamps and furniture are now regarded as design classics, held in museum collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the V&A in London.
