Description
The Knoll Bertoia Upholstered Diamond Armchair was designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll in 1952. From a collection of lounge and dining chairs this version of his Diamond Armchair comes fully upholstered in a large selection of fabric grades and colours. With a soft, warm and inviting appeal the structure of the metal rod design can still be seen through the back of the chair. Furthermore, it's available in a polished chrome, black or white finish which enables you to create the chair of your choice. A classic statement in any lounge area or bedroom.

Harry Bertoia
Italian born, Harry Bertoia started his career as a teacher. It was not until he left this post to join the war effort in the Eames office in Venice, that he realised his passion for sculpture after attending welding classes. Bertoia primarily used hand coated metal rods in his work as they allowed him to build up large nets that formed a multi-layered effect signifying space and time. The first examples of this new style of seating were seen when he accepted the invitation to work for Knoll Associates, where he produced the Bertoia Diamond Chair in the 1950s.
