Vitra Gueridon Dining Table
The Vitra Guéridon Table, which was produced by the designer and engineer Jean Prouvé for the University of Paris, is a convincing demonstration of clear structural principles. This wooden table is a variation of Prouvé’s architecturally informed design vocabulary in a natural material, proving that modern tables do not have to be made out of steel and glass.

Description
The Guéridon Dining Table by Jean Prouvé for Vitra was designed for the University of Paris in 1949.
A round dining table the key feature of Gueridon is the pronounced steel connection which holds the leg supports, reinforcing its architectural overtones.
It is available in two diameters in a various oiled woods with a standard height of 74cm.

Jean Prouve
Jean Prouvé is regarded as one of the most influential furniture designers of the early modern design movement. Specialising in the use of steel and aluminium in his designs, he is said to have considered himself more as an engineer than a modern designer. Prouvé was a pioneer of his time concentrating purely on efficiency and the materials being used rather than just the aesthetic appeal of products.
