Description
The TK1 Betty Chair by &Tradition is a brilliant contemporary chair that's named after the Betty Nansen Theater in Copenhagen. Designed by Thau & Kallio the Betty features a beautiful seat made from exposed webbing crafted from natural linen fibres and is available in three colours to suit your interior. Also available is the TK2 Betty Chair which features a solid wooden seat.

Thau & Kallio
Jakob Thau was born in Sweden but grew up in Denmark, where he first trained as a cabinetmaker before earning a master’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design. His work is all about the timeless. By blending traditional craftsmanship with both familiar and innovative materials, Thau creates designs that feel instantly relatable—pieces made to be lived with and loved for years.
Sami Kallio, originally from Finland, was raised in Sweden and also shares a background in cabinetmaking. After completing a master’s in design at the Gothenburg School of Design and Crafts, he developed a reputation for combining a deep respect for wood and traditional craftsmanship with forward-thinking manufacturing techniques.
Together, Thau and Kallio bring their shared passion for craft and innovation to life in the Betty collection from &Tradition. Inspired by Copenhagen’s Betty Nansen Theatre, which dates back to 1857 and was first housed in a wooden pavilion, the collection blends heritage and modernity in a way that feels both contemporary and full of character. At its heart, the Betty series reflects the duo’s fascination with creating seating that’s not only functional, but also warm, inviting, and perfectly suited to any space.
