With its cubist, almost brutalist frame, the Normann Copenhagen Kube 3-seater Sofa is inspired by midcentury design traditions. Its plush cushions are placed loosely within a boxy pine frame in a contrasting, yet beautifully balanced design.

Description
Drawing on the legacy of mid-century design, the Normann Copenhagen Kube Sofa showcases the beauty of craftsmanship. The exposed pine frame puts the thoughtful construction of the sofa proudly on display, where it becomes a defining feature of the overall design. The thick planks emphasise the durability and beauty of pine, which will develop a natural patina over time, further infusing the sofa with character.
This striking 3-seater sofa features soft, comfortable cushions that sit in contrast to the rigid frame, creating a harmonious visual balance. It's available in an extensive choice of fabric and leather upholstery options alongside the option of a pine or dark brown finish for the base.
In the words of the designer, Simon Legald - “In the mid-century, sofas would often feature exposed frames, with cushions placed within. It wasn’t until later that fully upholstered sofas became the norm for ultimate comfort. Kube brings the honest, visible construction distinguished by mid-century sofa design into the modern home, without compromising on comfort.”

Simon Legald
Simon Legald is a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and designs both small and large-scale products. Simon’s designs marry together craftsmanship and industry; he also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.
Simon has designed some real classics in contemporary Scandinavian design including the block table, amp lamp and the furniture range, 'Form'. The Form range was, in fact, Legald’s dissertation project and after three years of development, it was taken into production by Normann Copenhagen. For Legald, people need to understand his designs and their functions. He keeps his plans simple and straightforward, displaying the technicalities instead of hiding them. “I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
