The Soft Edge 60 Chair has been designed by Iskos-Berlin, a partnership comprising of Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos whose motto is “changing within the changes” or “movement within mobility”. Produced by Danish design brand HAY, the Soft Edge's name comes from the fact that the softly shaped seat and back features edges that all face away from the body. The use of state of the art plywood moulding techniques enables a three dimensionality that's unusual for typical moulded plywood chair.
The solid wood frame features a cross-member structure that adds significant strength to this stackable and lightweight chair, making it perfect for use in any segment of the contract market – from classrooms and auditoriums to canteens and cafeterias.
Available here in a selection of stained oak finishes, the Soft Edge series also includes a steel frame version which provides further stacking capabilities. The steel frame Soft Edge is available here.

Iskos-Berlin
Iskos-Berlin is a Copenhagen-based design studio formed by Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos in 2010 designing furniture, industrial and graphic design. The company was borne from Komplot Design, established by Boris Berlin in 1987. As an assistant within the company Aleksej was employed for more than 11 years. This long and fruitful cooperation has allowed the duo to develop a shared philosophy of design. They have collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious manufacturers including Muuto and their furniture, lighting, and other design products, are exhibited at numerous design museums around the world, including the MoMA and the Danish Design Museum.
