Fredericia Hunting Chair

The Hunting Chair, designed by Fredericia's in house designer Børge Mogensen, was manufactured in 1958 and originated from The Copenhangen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in 1950 that explored the theme 'The Hunting Lodge'. Making reference to Medieval Spanish furniture through the use of a solid wood framework and saddle leather, this mix of natural materials created the perfect hunting chair. The Hunting Chair has an adjustable seat thanks to solid brass buckles that attach the leather to the wooden frame.

The chair was launched as part of an innovative living space exhibition in 1958 where all tables were removed to showcase an open living space. This is why the Spanish chair and Hunting Chair have such wide arms, to act as a sort of side table. This is inspired by designs used in ancient islamic culture. This contemporary classic lounge chair is a piece of iconic Danish design. Watch the leather and wood grow with age and build a strong unique character in the home.
