Description
Mayday is utility light fixture designed by Konstantin Grcic for Flos. It consists of an injection-moulded tapered opaline polypropylene diffuser with a hook/handle which also acts as cord winder. A push button switch is located on the handle. Industrial design in its most basic, utilitarian form.

Konstantin Grcic
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich in 1965 and studied carpentry and cabinet-making at the Panham College in Dorset, before completing a masters degree at the Royal College of Art in London. He then spent some time working in Jasper Morrison's studio, before returning to Munich to set up on his own. His playfulness of materials and industrial design style has led him to collaborate with many highly regarded brands including Flos, Magis, Muji and Vitra. This design discipline can be seen in the May Day Light he developed for Flos and Hack Desk from Vitra.
