Description
Lampadina is a classic 1972 Flos design by Achille Castiglioni. With functional simplicity it consists of a bakelite lampholder on an anodised aluminium disc base. This base acts to contain the excess power cord as it's wound round the inside. A switch is located on the lampholder neck. A partially sandblasted shade diffuses the light. Lampadina is industrial design in its most basic, utilitarian form and comes with an LED light source.

Achille Castiglioni
Achille Castiglioni (1918 - 2002) was an Italian architect and remains one of our most prolific designers of twentieth century iconic products such as the Arco Lamp, Taraxacum and Fucsia lights for Flos as well as many other lighting designs and numerous household items for Alessi. MoMA in New York features 14 of his works and he has received seven Compasso d'Oro awards.
