Knoll has been designing and manufacturing iconic furniture for over 80 years, the brand is known for its careful balance between modernity and tradition. The Knoll KN Seating Collection embodies this balance, paying homage to design classics whilst boasting a decidedly modern spirit. Originally introduced in 2018 by Piero Lissoni, the Knoll KN Collection has grown into a family of soft seating with a signature style and modernist feel.

Piero Lissoni

Piero Lissoni; designer of the KN Collection, is an award-winning architect, designer and art director. Born in Seregno, Brianza, in 1956, Lissoni graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic in Milan in 1985. In 1986, he and Nicoletta Canesi founded Lissoni Associati, a multidisciplinary design firm based in Milan. This was later followed by the opening of architecture firms Lissoni Architettura and the New York-based Lissoni, Inc.

Lissoni describes his design approach as “humanistic,” where the human experience is placed at the centre of his design process. Whether designing a small-scale product or a larger hotel project, Lissoni is known for his careful attention to detail and intriguing proportions. His creations are marked by their stark minimalism. Over the years Lissoni has worked for many of the greats, including Artemide, Fritz Hansen and Kartell.

Knoll KN Collection: A Family Of Soft Seating.

The Knoll KN Collection combines exceptional comfort and exquisite detailing with Piero Lissoni’s signature minimalist aesthetic. Reflecting the modernist spirit of Knoll, KN’s curved organic silhouette elevates any interior. At its launch, the KN collection included the KN01 lounge chair, the KN02 chair and the KN03 footstool. KN01 introduces the family’s distinctive shell structure whilst the KN02 offers a supportive, high back seating option. The KN03 ottoman can be paired with either chair to provide further comfort.

2019 saw the addition of the KN04 Armchair and KN05 Settee which bring a relaxed edge to the collection. Both chairs embody the family's curved, minimal characteristics but are positioned lower with a reclined orientation, perfect for quiet moments of relaxation. In 2021 the family became complete with the introduction of the KN06 armchair and KN07 chair, designs that reflect a cultural shift in habits. These latest additions provide comfortable, elegant designs for the home office.
