The award recognises exceptional lighting design
When designing the Tip Lamp, Jens Fager was inspired to create a simple, functional design with careful attention to detail. Intended for use in various settings, the simplified expression of the Tip Lamp is intrinsic to its distinct appearance.
Cast from powder-coated aluminium, the lamp is available in a range of colours. It's pared back to the very essence of its function: to shine light where it is needed. Use the Tip Lamp's adjustable head and arm to direct light onto your laptop or newspaper - the ideal task lamp. Alternatively, the lamp's opal diffuser and dimmer function ensure that the light can also be used to alter the ambience of a room. No matter its designated purpose, the Tip Lamp will elegantly illuminate any space.
"Tip is a purist yet playful lamp that features a characteristic architectural silhouette. During the design process, I focused on polishing every single detail while emphasising the functional aspect of the lamp: I wanted to reduce the design to the very essence of its purpose. The moulded aluminium frame lends the Tip Lamp a clean, precise look - underscoring its subtle aesthetic." - Jens Fager
The Tip Lamp won the award against other exceptional lighting designs in its category. Shortlisted designs included nominations from brands such as Le Klint, & tradition, Nuura and Munk Collective.
Unfortunately Fager was unable to attend the award ceremony to collect his prize, but colleagues were delighted to accept the award in his place.
We featured the Tip Lamp alongside other Muuto products in a blog on creating a Muuto Workspace.
