Description
A Connection to the past is essential to any &Tradition piece. Designer of the In Between SK4 Table, Kallio says “Woodturning is a result of my love for Scandinavian heritage and traditional wood crafting, there is a satisfaction that comes from using old techniques."
Designer Kallio has reinterpreted certain aspects of the classic In Between chair when creating the In Between SK4 Table. Both pieces reflect a similar curvature, and similar angles on the legs.The table legs were created using woodturning, a traditional technique that uses a lathe to shape wood.
The materials for the table embody the rich heritage, solid oak is used as it a sturdy and reliable wood that is steeped in Scandinavian history. “Oak is a good long-lasting material that people can easily relate to” - Kallio. The shape of the table has been chosen to embrace intimacy and togetherness. Its round shape means it must be brought away from walls, therefore taking an active role in any room. It also encourages interaction and conversation when sat at the table.
