Description
The Metal Sun Wall Relief from Vitra is an original design by Alexander Girard which he originally designed for The Compound Restaurant and his own home in Santa Fe. Vitra consulted the Girard family to select the design for a range of wall decor.
This charming piece of wall art is made entirely from Brass and protudes 6cm from the wall giving it a 3 dimemsional quality.

Alexander Girard
Alexander Girard was one of the decisive figures of post-war American design alongside his close friends George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames. Girard designed a multitude of textiles that reflect his love of festive colours and patterns. He was an influential figure in the fields of furniture, exhibition and interior design as well as in the graphic arts throughout his career.
