Vitra Cork Bowls
The Vitra Cork Bowls designed by Jasper Morrison are turned from pure cork. They have a characteristic surface pattern and are velvety to the touch. They are available in two sizes and can be used as either a tray or a shallow bowl. Cork is a renewable material that is compatible with Vitras commitment to sustainability.

Description
The Vitra Cork Bowls designed by Jasper Morrison make a stunning home accessory. Cork is a natural renewable material obtained from the bark of cork trees. Cork oaks are indigenous to the western Mediterranean region, can attain an age of 250 to 350 years and have been protected as species in Portugal since the thirteenth Century. The properties of cork make it ideal for furniture and interior objects. The material is hard wearing, lightweight and pleasant to the touch. Vitra uses premium-grade recycled cork, whose coarse grain gives the material a lively surface pattern. Each cork bowl exhibits a lively, unique pattern defined by the natural colour and texture variations.

Jasper Morrison
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959 and studied design at Kingston Polytechnic, The Royal College of Art and HDK in Berlin. In 1986 he set up his Office for Design in London and designed for many companies including Alessi, Flos, Alias, Cappellini, Colombo Design, FSB, Magis, Rosenthal, SCP, Sony and Vitra amongst others. His Glo Ball range of lamps for Flos and Hal Chairs for Vitra are some of his most commercially successful designs - proving how a simple aesthetic can create mass and timeless appeal.
