Richard Schultz
Richard Schultz is an American furniture designer responsible for several iconic designs during his long career. After studying at Iowa State University and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago he joined Knoll in 1951 to work with Harry Bertoia. As well as teaching design at the Philadelphia College of Art he had a one-man show of his sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art. He left Knoll in 1972 to freelance until he found Richard Schultz Designs in Palm, Pennsylvania in 1992 with his son Peter. Some of his most significant designs include the outdoor collection he created for Knoll in 1966 - timeless designs still produced by Knoll to this day.
