
David Chipperfield
David Chipperfield was born in London in 1953. After graduating from Kingston Polytechnic in 1976 and training at the Architectural Association in London, Chipperfield made his reputation in Japan in the 1980s before completing many projects in mainland Europe, the United States and China. Chipperfield's recognised works include the award-winning River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames and the reconstructed Neues Museum in Berlin. As well as his success in architecture he has worked with Alessi, creating a number of pieces including the Piana Folding Chair.
