Normann Copenhagen Stretch Bench
The Normann Copenhagen Stretch Bench available in two sizes holds a simple, uncomplicated and welcoming design. Crafted from solid pine lacquered with a clear, matt UV varnish allows the bench to be used in a wide range of environments seating in a long hallway or along one side of the dining table.

Description
The Normann Copenhagen Stretch Collection designed by Simon Legald is the epitome of utilitarian minimalism. The Collection made up of a stool and two benches is characterised by solid pine planks that highlight the durability and quality of the uncomplicated design. The warm and inviting charm of the pine wood becomes even more enchanting as it matures acquiring a captivating patina, promising a lifetime of visual delight. To preserve and protect the inherent beauty of the pine, the Stretch Collection is delicately finished with a clear, matt UV varnish protecting it from harsh sun rays. Available in two sizes the Strech Benches can be used in a wide range of environments from seating in a long hallway or along the side of the dining table.

Simon Legald
Simon Legald is a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and designs both small and large-scale products. Simon’s designs marry together craftsmanship and industry; he also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.
Simon has designed some real classics in contemporary Scandinavian design including the block table, amp lamp and the furniture range, 'Form'. The Form range was, in fact, Legald’s dissertation project and after three years of development, it was taken into production by Normann Copenhagen. For Legald, people need to understand his designs and their functions. He keeps his plans simple and straightforward, displaying the technicalities instead of hiding them. “I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
