Description

The Normann Copenhagen Sum Sectional Sofa Components are individual elements for you to create the lounge/sofa solution of your choice. All components attach to each other for you to create everything from a large corner sofa to a small two seater sofa or chaise longue. There are essentially 8 components : left and right arms, one mid section, a corner element, open ended left and right arms and two sizes of poufs or ottomans. Designed by Simon Legald Sum elements sit atop slim angled aluminium or black legs and each module sits beside its immediate neighbour to form one continuous and harmonious whole. The rear has been taken into consideration, so the sofa can stand in the middle of a room and delight the eye from all angles. It's also available in several leather and upholstery colours.

Simon Legald

Simon Legald is a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and designs both small and large-scale products. Simon’s designs marry together craftsmanship and industry; he also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.

Simon has designed some real classics in contemporary Scandinavian design including the block table, amp lamp and the furniture range, 'Form'. The Form range was, in fact, Legald’s dissertation project and after three years of development, it was taken into production by Normann Copenhagen. For Legald, people need to understand his designs and their functions. He keeps his plans simple and straightforward, displaying the technicalities instead of hiding them. “I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
