Description
Originally conceived by Charlotte Perriand in the early 1960s, Pivotante a Poser is one of those designs that feels almost obvious once you see it. A small cylindrical body, open on two sides, holds a pair of pivoting metal screens. Swing them wide for a wash of light or keep them nearly closed for a narrow, atmospheric beam. The mechanism is simple, but it gives you real control over both direction and intensity without the usual fuss.
Perriand designed with a kind of functional optimism, favouring clarity over ornament, and the lamp reflects that mindset. There is no visible drama, just the pleasure of adjusting light by hand and watching it slip through the openings. More than fifty years after its first appearance, the form still reads as contemporary: compact, geometric and calm. Reissued by Nemo with careful fidelity to the original, Pivotante a Poser is an easy fit on a desk, sideboard or nightstand, and a small reminder of why Perriand’s work continues to feel relevant.
