Description
The Rime Chandelier by TAF Studio for Muuto reinterprets the familiar glass pendant as a composed light sculpture. Arranged around a square-profile aluminium suspension, five mouth-blown, sandblasted glass shades emit an even, gentle glow, creating atmosphere without visual heaviness.
The contrast between the soft, tactile glass and the sharp geometry of the aluminium structure gives the chandelier its distinctive character. Visible screws and industrial detailing are intentionally left exposed, reinforcing the design’s clarity and contemporary expression rather than concealing its construction.
Each glass shade is mouth-blown using up to 75 percent recycled glass, while the suspension is made from die-cast and machined aluminium, supported by a steel aircraft wire. Cables, suspension components and glass shades are all replaceable, allowing the piece to be maintained and adapted over time. The chandelier is produced without intentionally added PFAS.
With a diameter of 80 cm and available in White, Black or Aluminium Grey finishes, the Rime Chandelier works comfortably above dining tables, meeting spaces or open-plan interiors where it can act as both a functional light source and a defining visual element.
