Description
The Pleat Mirror by Gustav Winsth for Muuto reconsiders the role of the full-length mirror, treating it as an architectural element rather than a purely functional object. Its folded surface introduces depth and movement, reflecting light and surroundings in a way that shifts throughout the day, almost like a living artwork.
Crafted from mirror-polished stainless steel and cut from a single sheet, the Pleat Mirror balances precision with expression. The soft curves of the folded form contrast with the industrial character of the material, creating a piece that feels both minimal and assertive. Its tall proportions, echoing the scale of a doorway, give it a strong presence in both residential and commercial interiors.
Designed in Stockholm and produced in Denmark, the mirror reflects Winsth’s process-led approach, where material and manufacturing methods directly inform form. The result is an object that invites use while rewarding closer inspection, combining technical clarity with sculptural intent.
