Description
The Kartell Componibili Big Storage Unit is the larger-scale version of the iconic Componibili design by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, first introduced in 1969. Designed to meet modern storage needs, this updated version features a 42cm diameter, compared to the original 32cm, making it ideal for spaces that require greater storage capacity while retaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Available in a selection of stylish colour finishes, the Kartell Componibili Big is offered in two functional size options. The two-tier version includes a smaller top compartment, while the three-tier version provides three equal-sized compartments for efficient organisation. Choose from classic neutral tones such as white and dove grey, or add a bold accent with vibrant colours including orange.
For enhanced flexibility, an optional wheel set can be added, allowing the unit to be moved easily around the home or workspace. Exceptionally versatile, the Componibili Big can be used as a bedside table, bathroom storage unit, hallway cabinet, or storage solution for a study or studio. With its increased proportions and timeless Italian design, the Kartell Componibili Big combines practical storage, versatility, and modern design heritage.

Anna Castelli Ferrieri
In the late 1940s, she co-founded Kartell alongside her husband Giulio Castelli, playing a pivotal role in defining the company’s design identity. Ferrieri was especially fascinated by the possibilities of plastics, seeing them not as cheap substitutes but as materials capable of precision, durability, and refined aesthetics when used intelligently. Her approach combined technical rigour with a deep understanding of domestic needs.
Among her most enduring creations is the Componibili storage system, introduced in the 1960s, which remains a benchmark of modular, practical design. Throughout her career, Ferrieri balanced architectural thinking with product design, producing objects that were rational, adaptable, and visually understated. Her legacy lives on through designs that continue to be manufactured and widely used, embodying her belief that good design should be both innovative and genuinely useful in everyday life.
