The HAY Wood Box Coffee Table embodies designer Jonathan Muecke’s meticulous approach to design. A compact table that blends artistic sensibility with precision, this versatile table is crafted in solid oak with careful attention to proportion and details. With a puzzle-like construction and seamless joints which spark curiosity about its distinct appearance this table is availabe in natural or black npainted oak. Blending into any setting - as a bedside table, slamm coffee table, simply used ti display a pirce of art or sculpture this a table where the designer had blurred the lines between art, design, and architecture.

Jonathan Muecke
Jonathan Muecke was born in 1983 and raised in Laramie, Wyoming, He is an American designer known for blurring the lines between art, architecture, and industrial design. After earning a degree in architecture from Iowa State University and working with Herzog & de Meuron in Switzerland, he completed an MFA in 3D Design at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Based in Minneapolis, Muecke established his own studio, gaining attention with his debut at Volume Gallery in 2011 and later designing the Design Miami/ pavilion in 2014. His work, often described as minimalist yet experimental, explores materiality, perception, and form, using woods, metals, and composites to create objects that feel both familiar and abstract.
Featured in institutions such as SFMOMA, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Vitra Design Museum, Muecke has received awards including a United States Artists Fellowship and continues to push boundaries, most recently with his 2025 Wood Collection for Knoll.
