Description
Designed for HAY by Julien Renault, the Compass Pendant delivers a modern reinterpretation of the classic pendant light. Centered around a slanted conical shade suspended from the ceiling, the lamp’s uncluttered silhouette offers a refined presence with visual balance. Made from aluminium the shade is available in two sizes and several finishes. Combining functionality with timeless aesthetics, this pendant offers flexible lighting for a wide range of rooms and settings. Used alonge over a dining table or clustered over a kitchen island its subltle and versatile enough to be used in a wide variety of situations.

Julien Renault
Julien Renault is a French designer with a talent for finding beauty in the everyday. Raised in Paris, he studied industrial design at ESAD in Reims before continuing his education at ECAL in Switzerland. The contrast between these two schools helped shape his design philosophy, balancing a rational, functional approach with a sense of artistic freedom.
Now working from his studio in Brussels, Renault draws inspiration from the world around him, convinced that even the most ordinary objects can influence how we feel and interact with our surroundings. His designs explore the subtle connections between objects and the spaces they inhabit, resulting in work that feels both thoughtful and accessible.
Renault collaborates with a number of leading international brands, including HAY, for whom he has created the Pastis Collection and Compass Collection, as well as pieces for the Danish brand Nine.
