The HAY Bowler Table is a compact, sculptural side table by Shane Schneck for HAY. A powder-coated steel tray and handle sit on a solid granite base, combining real stability with a design light enough to move wherever you need it. Description
Designed by Shane Schneck the HAY Bowler Table takes its name - and its playful silhouette - from the classic English bowler hat and cane. A slender steel stem curves up and over the tray, doubling as a built-in carrying handle, while a solid granite base gives the whole piece genuine, reassuring weight. It's a design with real personality, but one that never feels over-designed.
The tray and handle are made from powder-coated steel, chosen for its durability and clean, matt finish, while the base is solid granite - a material that grounds the table both literally and visually. Despite that solidity, the Bowler Table remains light enough to lift and reposition with one hand, making it genuinely practical as well as good-looking. It arrives flat-packed and is straightforward to self-assemble.
At just 36cm in diameter and 70.5cm tall, the Bowler Table is built for spaces where every centimetre counts — perfect as a bedside table, beside an armchair, or slotted next to a sofa where a full-sized side table would feel too bulky. It's available in Tile Red, Beige, Black, Cream White, Pale Brown and Fir Green, giving you plenty of scope to either blend it into a neutral scheme or use it as a considered pop of colour.
