The Tatou Pendant Light was designed by Patricia Urquiola in 2012 and made with a moulded polycarbonate shade. Taking inspiration from Japanese armour, the light is named after an armadillo – referencing its hard and durable shell.

Description
The Tatou Pendant Light by Patricia Urquiola for Flos is a series of lights with a design inspired by classic antique Japanese armour. The name 'Tatou' is French for armadillo - a creature with a leather protective shell and in the same way this lighting family is a model of resistance and strength whilst at the same time offering dynamism, lightness and flexibility.
The 'shell' protects direct light to the eyes and produces a harmonic play on light and shadow through the perforated sections. This is made up of four identical elements which are all interwoven to form a unified dome shape which diffuses light both up and down. This pendant version of Tatou comes is available in S1 and colour Grey Ochre
