The Taraxacum Cocoon Pendant Light was designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo in 1960, and was reissued by Flos in 2005. Part of the Cocoon range by Flos, this pendant is a stunning lighting feature, inspired by nature’s interventions with human fabrication.

Description

Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni's Taraxacum light for Flos was originally designed in 1960 but was introduced as a re-edition in 2005.

The light source is cocooned inside a polymer case to beautiful affect, providing a soft diffused light. Taraxacum Cocoon is available in two sizes : small (S1) and large (S2).

Achille Castiglioni (1918 - 2002) was an Italian architect and remains one of our most prolific designers of twentieth century iconic products such as the Arco Lamp, Taraxacum and Fucsia lights for Flos as well as many other lighting designs and numerous household items for Alessi. MoMA in New York features 14 of his works and he has received seven Compasso d'Oro awards.
