Description
"When I sit on a train travelling, I always see these strings of electricity out of the window. It’s so beautiful and poetic the way they connect the pylons but at the same time they divide the landscape. I wanted to translate this into interior architecture" - Michael Anastassiades.
The String Light, designed by Michael Anastassiades for Flos is a beautifully configurable lighting option that allows you to create an array of different layouts and patterns, meaning you can create a highly unique lighting display to fit your interior space. The String Light is available with either a spherical or conical black polycarbonate light shade that can be paired with optional ceiling rose and/or floor switch. You also have the option to add additional cord to allow you to customise your lighting configuration further.
The electronic ON/OFF switch and dimmer are operated by means of Bluetooth Apple and Android remote control application.
Ceiling Rose - Can be used as a wall or ceiling installation and feeds up to two heads. It also includes three wayouts for the cable.
Floor Switch - Feeds up to two heads maximium and includes wayouts for two cables, with space to wrap 10 metres of cable.

Michael Anastassiades
Cypriot born Michael Anastassiades founded his London design studio in 1994. Schooled in industrial design and engineering at London's Royal College of Art and Imperial College Anastassiades is particularly renowned for his lighting products, which comprise 80% of his studio's commissions. His lighting collections for Flos -including the IC family and String range - are deceptively simple, yet meticulously detailed, which betray his training as a civil engineer and industrial designer. Since collaborating with the architectural firm Studio Mumba Anastassiades is increasingly working with some of the world's leading architects – including David Chipperfield and John Pawson and his light designs can be seen in hotels, restaurants and stores worldwide.
